For Payton and Jake, it was essential to set aside time before their ceremony for a private first look. After presenting various spots around Breckenridge, they decided on their perfect spot, Boreas Pass. Having a fall elopement at Boreas Pass is an incredible option. The aspens are turning golden and temperatures are still mild.

Fall Elopement Ceremony at Blue Lakes

Before we get into the ceremony and these photos at Blue Lakes near Breckenridge, Colorado it is important to note that ceremonies and commercial photography sessions are no longer permitted. In order to continue to allow elopements to occur in other area around Breckenridge it is important that we respect these rules. I did tell you that Payton and Jake made use of their time on their elopement day. The last and final stop on their tour before heading to their reception was to watch the sunset at Sapphire Point. Sapphire point is another popular area for elopements and intimate wedding in Colorado. If you are interested, you can reserve a 3 hour time slot for your intimate weddign or elopement here. The details that many will not tell you is that if privacy is important, this is not the spot for you. Even though you reserve it people can still walk up to the small view point during the reservation period.

One of the most delightful highlights of Payton and Jake’s fall elopement was their decision to hire a private chef for the reception dinner—a personal touch that truly elevated the experience. As a fellow foodie, I always appreciate when couples prioritize food on their wedding day. Upon our return from capturing the sunset, the chef had already set out a delectable assortment of hors d’oeuvres for the family to enjoy while the celebration continued. As dinner preparations were underway and plates were being plated, the family savored moments of camaraderie, indulging in games, s’mores by the campfire, and heartfelt toasts to the newly married couple.
